When your cat grooms her fur, some hairs inevitably end up in her stomach – where they happily form unpleasant clumps. CatLax paste by Covetrus Essentials in a 60g tube helps fur pass smoothly through the digestive tract and prevents hairball formation. The liver flavour is a real plus – most cats accept it without protest.

The paste works thanks to a combination of malt syrup and petroleum jelly – they coat the swallowed hairs and gently lubricate the intestines. It also contains vitamin E as a natural antioxidant.

• Prevention: 1/2 teaspoon weekly for adult cats, 1/4 teaspoon for kittens over 6 months
• For hairball issues: the same dose daily for 3 days
• Especially helpful during shedding season or with sluggish digestion
