Trovet Hepatic HLD is a veterinary diet in a can designed for cats whose liver needs some relief. When this organ isn't working at full capacity, it needs a helping hand – and that's exactly what this carefully balanced formula provides, with moderate protein content and high digestibility.

The recipe is built on lamb meat (29%), chicken and fish, supplemented with rice and fermented rice. The key role, however, is played by so-called lipotropic substances, which support fat metabolism in the liver:

• L-carnitine helps process fats
• Choline and lecithin contribute to liver regeneration
• Taurine (400 mg/kg) for heart and eye health

The diet is also suitable for kittens (with adjusted dosage) and can be fed long-term in cases of chronic liver insufficiency. Always consult your veterinarian about starting and duration of feeding – especially if your cat suffers from steatosis, in which case this diet is contraindicated.
